stuck in the parade

We had a guest over the weekend, on the tail end of a summer long stay in America. I took her down to see the White House and the National Gallery on Saturday. I forgot about all those signs plastered around advertising the anti-war rally for Saturday. So we showed up at the White House... and suddenly they began to gather. We were trapped in the middle of tens of thousands of people. We muscled our way out of the group (and snapped a couple photos) and went the long way around to the National Gallery (half hour walk turned into a 45 minute walk). And we could see that the rally had covered the streets all the way from the White House to the Capitol. That was allot of people.

Not all participants were on the same page. The other side of the sign said "Bomb Iran soon....."
